The top 5 advantages of e-learning

Software should serve the user as opposed to vice versa. Still, working with an extensive package like Agile BPMS  for the first time, can be an overwhelming experience. If you want to make maximum use of this software, somebody will need to assist new users.

Until recently, there were two options: attend group training or going through the system together with an application manager or other advanced user. Unfortunately, both options include a number of disadvantages. That is why we currently introduce eLearning, a way of learning that includes a large number of advantages. In this article, we list the 5 most important ones.

Hexagon-1 Once set up, it can always be used

e-Learning is set up as a ‘layer’ across your own JOIN environment. This implies that the user is guided through a process step by step, with all the details and functionalities that are normally used. Once training has been set up, it can thus be used by any user, in the familiar environment. Even if this environment changes after some time. On top of this, the training is entirely in line with the functionalities used within your organisation.

While one user will quickly familiarise with new operations, another may have difficulty with it. As a result, classical group trainings do not correspond with the user’s needs. By offering a diverse range of training, via JOIN eLearning, anyone can follow interesting training at their own level. All training in JOIN eLearning is tailor-made. For each organisation there could be different topics. These could consist of easy operations, such as viewing the working stock and performing tasks, or more complicated duties like creating a template.

Hexagon-3 To be used wherever and whenever you like

When a (new) employee starts working with JOIN, you want him/her to quickly learn how to work with the software. Waiting for group training would be undesirable in that case. Calling upon the application manager time after time to provide one-on-one training is rather labour-intensive. Using JOIN eLearning, the employee can start at any given time, without other people’s support. Furthermore, the user can decide his own pace. An experienced user will quickly go through the information, while another is given time to carefully read, implement and remember each step.

Hexagon-4 Always a reference work at hand

No one is able to remember a whole range of process steps at once, not even using eLearning. eLearning however does offer the possibility to review certain parts of the training at a later stage. So, whenever you are performing a task in JOIN and are not quite certain how it works, you can search for information, without needing to rely on others.

Hexagon-5 Users will be embracing the software

Already many organisations make use of eLearning. Deutsche Bahn did research on the effects of eLearning regarding one of their software applications. It showed that beforehand users were not familiar with many of the functionalities and thus didn’t use them. Also users who had been using the software for some time, only managed to successfully complete 45 percent of the different tasks. Even though some of them had completed training. By leading them through all the processes using eLearning, they managed to succeed in all cases. Additionally, the efficiency of their operations quadrupled, while the use of the software increased by 80 percent.
